The U.S. Department of Justice released an explosive 882-page report Tuesday detailing how the Biden-era DOJ systematically weaponized the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances (FACE) Act to target pro-life Americans while turning a blind eye to violence against pregnancy resource centers and houses of worship.
The comprehensive review, conducted by the Trump administration’s Weaponization Working Group, examined over 700,000 internal records and concluded that Biden’s Justice Department engaged in selective prosecution, coordination with abortion-rights groups, and prosecutorial misconduct aimed squarely at silencing peaceful pro-life advocates.
According to the report, Biden prosecutors pursued significantly harsher sentences against pro-life defendants — seeking an average of 26.8 months in prison — compared to just 12.3 months for those accused of attacking pro-life facilities.
This disparity highlights a clear ideological bias: the FACE Act, passed in 1994 to protect access to clinics as well as pregnancy centers and places of worship, was twisted into a tool to criminalize traditional Christian views on the sanctity of life.
The report reveals that Biden DOJ officials worked closely with groups like Planned Parenthood and the National Abortion Federation to track and build cases against pro-life activists, sharing real-time intelligence and even assisting with funding efforts for abortion providers.
In stark contrast, attacks on pro-life pregnancy resource centers — which provide alternatives to abortion and have saved countless unborn lives — were often ignored or downplayed, with only a handful of prosecutions despite a surge in vandalism following the 2022 Dobbs decision.
One example cited is the case of pro-life activist Mark Houck, whose home was raided by 16 armed FBI agents in front of his wife and children over a minor shoving incident with an abortion clinic escort — charges that were later dropped.
The Biden DOJ’s National Task Force on Violence Against Reproductive Health Care Providers operated more like an arm of the abortion industry than an impartial enforcer of federal law, the report alleges.
Prosecutors allegedly withheld exculpatory evidence from defense teams, attempted to screen out jurors based on religious beliefs, and monitored pro-life activists for years before bringing charges.
This pattern of abuse contributed to Biden’s DOJ filing more than a quarter of all FACE Act cases in the law’s 30-year history, with the overwhelming majority — around 97 percent historically — targeting pro-life individuals.
Conservative leaders have long warned that the FACE Act was being enforced unequally, but the 882-page document now provides detailed evidence from inside the department itself.
In response, the current Justice Department has already taken action, with at least four prosecutors involved in these cases reportedly removed from their positions, restoring accountability within the Civil Rights Division.
President Trump has issued pardons to many of the pro-life Americans convicted under what the report describes as unjust and ideologically driven prosecutions.
The findings underscore a broader pattern of alleged weaponization during the Biden years — from targeting parents at school boards to labeling concerned Catholics as potential extremists — while threats to pro-life facilities were minimized.
By prioritizing protection for abortion clinics over pregnancy centers, the previous administration revealed its policy priorities and approach to enforcement.
The report also outlines how senior leadership and career attorneys coordinated to support abortion providers, including efforts to secure additional federal funding while pro-life voices faced aggressive enforcement.
This contrast stands against the limited response to attacks on pro-life centers, which increased after Roe v. Wade was overturned.
The Trump DOJ’s Weaponization Working Group has pledged to continue its review to ensure accountability and prevent similar actions in the future.
