The Justice Department is turning its attention to the biggest names in television news. On Saturday night, the department confirmed it is investigating ABC, CBS, CNN, NBC and Fox News for possible violations of federal antitrust law.

The probe centers on the White House television pool, the group of five networks that has shared coverage of presidential events for decades. According to reports, the Antitrust Division contacted the networks on Friday and asked for communications and other materials related to the pool. READ MORE

President Donald Trump has put one of the most closely watched Democrats in Washington on the spot. On Saturday, October 10, he said he would love to see Pennsylvania Senator John Fetterman join the Republican Party.

President Donald Trump said what many in Washington have whispered for months. On Saturday, October 10, speaking to reporters at the White House before heading to Tennessee, he declared that “it’s time for Ukraine to get a new president.”

4: Suspect Found Hiding in a Tree After Ambush That Left a Philadelphia Officer Dead

Philadelphia lost one of its own on Saturday. Police Officer Shane Seiber, a 40-year-old husband and father of two, died after he and his partner were ambushed while answering a call about an armed man in West Philadelphia.

It started just after 12:20 a.m., when the two officers were sent to a report of a man with a gun on a porch. According to Police Commissioner Kevin Bethel, the officers were met with heavy gunfire. READ MORE

Texas Senate nominee James Talarico reappeared Friday at the Austin City Limits Music Festival after an absence from in-person campaign events that lasted nearly two weeks. By the count Republicans and Fox News have used, it was 12 days.

His campaign spokesman, JT Ennis, posted a video of Talarico walking through the crowd and greeting supporters. Ennis took a shot at what he called conspiracy theorists, saying the candidate was alive and talking with voters. READ MORE

6: California’s Ballots Keep Turning Up Where They Shouldn’t

Dozens of pieces of election mail, including blank mail-in ballots, were found strewn along Lake Wohlford Road in North County San Diego this week. The stretch sits east of East Valley Parkway, near the junction of Valley Center and Escondido, just weeks before the Nov. 3 election.

Scott Harmes stopped at a turnout along the road Thursday morning after hearing about the discovery. He found a few dozen pieces of election mail on the ground, roughly half of them unsigned mail-in ballots. READ MORE
